Explore Mt. Angel, Oregon

Mt. Angel is a beautiful, historic community nestled amongst rolling hills on Oregon’s Scenic Silver Falls Tour Route on Highway 214 in North Marion County.  Located in the north Willamette Valley, Mt. Angel is about an hour from the Coast and minutes from eight waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park.  Situated on a hilltop above the town is the Benedictine community of Mount Angel Abbey.  Founded in 1882, the Abbey grounds house a Benedictine monastery, a seminary, retreat center, world famous library, a bookstore & coffeehouse, and a natural history museum.

Benedictine Brewery

There are only a few breweries in the country that are owned and operated by monks and the Valley's very own Benedictine Brewery is one of them! The brewery uses locally sourced hops grown on Abbey land and water from the monks' well. This local destination is even more special as the community built the building framework from 14,000 feet of Douglas fir harvested from the Abbey tree farm. This brewery is a place to gather, taste and believe.
